GRINS VEGETARIAN CAFE

Nashville's First Vegetarian Cafe

Welcome to Grins—Nashville’s oldest and first certified kosher vegetarian restaurant. Located on the beautiful Vanderbilt University campus in the Ben Shulman Center for Jewish Life, our café is a place for everyone—whether you’re on the university’s meal plan or just stopping by for a delicious bite. It's easy for non-university guests to visit, with convenient garage parking just around the corner.

At Grins (Yiddish for “vegetable” and pronounced "Greens"), we serve up a variety of tasty options for breakfast, lunch, and on-the-go, plus daily chef-inspired specials that might make (most) folks forget all about meat. Our menu is packed with flavorful grilled sandwiches, freshly made soups, vibrant salads, and incredible kosher-vegan-gluten-free baked goods from Chef Shayne’s Coyote Kitchen—they're so good you’ll eat ‘em as an appetizer!

Make sure to grab a coffee too! We proudly brew locally roasted, 100% organic coffee from Bongo Roasting Co.

We’re thrilled to welcome you to Grins! Explore our menu and hours below!

*Kosher certification is meticulously overseen by  Rabbi Saul Strosberg of Congregation Sherith Israel, an Orthodox synagogue in Nashville. We adhere to a rigorous standard of supervision known as yotzei vinichnas, which involves the kosher supervisor making frequent and unannounced visits to ensure that all our food preparation meets the highest kosher standards.
